Hey there! If you read my last post, you know that I’ll be writing about why you may not want to buy from Charlotte Russe until you try a little alternative. But first…a history lesson!
Buh. First let me apologize for the lack of updates guys. Let’s just say it’s Final Weeks and I have family members with anger management issues. ATM, I’m taking a break after writing 10 (single spaced) pages of essay to whip up this picture-heavy shoe-porn fest for you all to enjoy. Forgive me?
Friends and Family sales all over are coming to a close tomorrow and my pocket book is really really glad. Shopping-wise, the next few weeks will be rather quiet as I’m saving up for Black Friday sales and Yuletime present shopping (I only have three people left to shop for since my friends were kind enough to let me buy their gifts ahead of time!) I’m a buzzy little bee about the whole thing, so I am going to detail my damages for you guys.
It’s actually not as bad as I thought it would be, but I can’t wait to start reviewing the goods! I had to placem y Sephora order in two halves….Mooooooostly because I saw that the Nars Danmari palette was back up for grabs and jumped on it like a hyena on Simba. Or something.
Half lesson in purchasing decisions and half swatch post. Some of you will recall that a few months ago I tweeted asking what the best nude lip for an NC42 would be. Mind you, this was back when I was still trying a nude lip (i’ve since determined the look is not for me) and when I still thought I was an NC42 (I’m an NW30-35.) The results were many and sometimes I wish i’d gone with them. Cherish and Hug Me were the prompt replies from lovely ladies like JC of Makeup Diary and Mercedes of Mercedes Makeup Obsession – but when I tried them on I found they were near invisible on me due to my very pigmented lips. So I went the drastic route…what were the results? Viva Glam Gaga 2 (I think you can all remember how THAT went) Pink Plaid and Honeylove.
I did end up returning Sula’s natural blush in Forget Me Not. It just wasn’t going to work (tragic, I know.) But I didn’t want to write off the Sula brand just yet and so I headed hopefully back to the display in the hopes of finding non-tested lipsticks. I ended up clutching 3 to my heart (all the way up to the register) – two of them were sealed and one only looked as if it had been opened. The prevailing thought as I paid for them? “I’d look like a huge jerk if I ended up returning these too so I’d better like them!”
