So if you recall, I had my first Ulta hall wayyyyyyyy wayyyyyyyy back in late June. I still haven’t reviewed all the products I bought that day (It’s terrible, I know!) Lately i’ve taken to separating the products I need to review in a separate box that is more easily accessible than the rest of my makeup. That way I am more inclined to wear it/get an idea of its use so I can better review it. Somehow this gloss just kept not-falling into my hands. Maybe it’s because I’ve recently become a lipstick addict, but I just wasn’t particularly drawn to it. But last weekend I purchased a second color of the SWMLLL’s (long acronym!) and I finally got enough use out of them to feel comfortable with this review.
THE DAY HAS COOOOOOOOOOOOOOME
I know a few of you have been waiting for this review. Even I was eager to use this palette as much as possible, in order to get a good feel for it. With the influx of naked/nude/natural palettes, NYX’s Nude on Nude is hailed as the underpriced underdog. I hesitated on this purchase for quite a while but my boyfriend (of all people) finally convinced me to buy it. His enabling is your gain in this reivew!
Haha! Thought i’d do another lip product review didn’t you? Now that Sudo Beautify is in place I feel the need to expand my review repertoire. So my first review from my NYX haul will be for the Smokey Look Kit!
Really briefly I’d like to discuss NYX. They were one of the first companies I purchased ANY makeup from EVER. I bought their Round Lipstick in #562, Almost Black. It was a dark, blackish-bruise like color that nicely complimented my gangly middle-school goth attire and chains. It’s a color I wouldn’t wear now except for a cosplay but it’s nice to look back!
NYX was founded in 1999 by Toni Ko. Named after the roman goddess of night (so it should be pronounced phonetically instead of N-Y-X!) the line was meant to provide great color payoff for low prices. Seeing as how I bought my Almost Black lipstick in a dollar store nearly 5 years after their founding, I’d say they kept their promise. A lot of people are hesitant to try NYX because they are considered a cheapie company. But there’s no rule that ever said cheap had to be bad and I think my review of this palette will prove that!
Aaah. Horrendous lip product addiction is totally coming to a head in this review/swatch post. I decided to finally write up on some more of my last ELF haul before my next haul (from Nyx!) arrives. Although I only bought 3 colors in the latest order I’ll also be covering my existing lip shines from ELF. I actually have quite a few so even if you’re familiar with the product you may consider reading just to get an idea of the colors: including the new “Strawberry.”
I’m a lip product addict. Need proof? NOT including the teaser I’ll be including at the end of this post I just counted my current lip product collection. I have a total of 35 unique lip products (glosses, lipsticks, liners and stains.) This collection was acquired before I started blogging and I suspect it will grow exponentially now that I have started.
My sister, (HP from now on) was kind enough to lend me her camera. What happened to mine? Yeaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaah…I kind of forgot it in Bucket’s car. He lives pretty far away and so I have to wait ’till Sunday to get it back. The sweetie offered to drive it over, but my schedule doesn’t allow it. I also have a few shots and videos uploaded (expect a tutorial for my next major post!) I’ll manage, but it has made me a bit cranky. So you’ll see no smiles in today’s lip shots. D< NO SMILES AT ALL.
